In this video we explore datasets from Open Secrets in Palantir to reproduce the analysis done by the Sunlight Foundation – Visualizing The Health Care Lobbyist Complex.

The Sunlight Foundation, a non-partisan organization dedicated to providing meaningful access to information about Congress and the federal government, recently published a research report detailing Senator Max Baucus’s extensive ties to the healthcare industry through his former staffers. The Sunlight Foundation used data from OpenSecrets.org, which we have also imported into Palantir. In this video we use Palantir to analyze this data and explore the Senator’s lobbying and campaign finance ties to the healthcare industry.
